Nathan Byrne will be appearing in ‘The Day the Pope Emptied Croy’ as part of A Play, a Pie and a Pint at Oran Mor from 16th – 21st March. It will then head to the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh from 24th – 28th March. Furthermore, this play was written by fellow CMA client, Martin McCormick.
There aren’t too many places in Scotland where you are the only ‘Prod’ in town. But Ranald is; and he’s the only one in Croy. Literally. Everyone has gone to see the Pope. Except Barr, he’s there too. Although, he doesn’t know where he is, he doesn’t know what he is; that’s because of all the glue he’s inhaled. The Day the Pope Emptied Croy shows us a glimpse of life in the early 1980’s, what it’s like being an outsider and why you should never try and knock the chalice from the Chapel.
