Spoiling at the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh

After an award-winning run at the Edinburgh Festival and a successful run in London, Gabriel Quigley will be appearing in ‘Spoiling’ at Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh from 16th-20th September. Gabriel will be playing the role of Scotland’s Foreign Minister.

Gabriel QuigleyIn front of the world’s media, Scotland’s Foreign Minister will shortly deliver a keynote speech outlining the newly-independent nation’s relationship with the former UK. But there’s a problem. She’s refusing to speak the words she’s been given.

There’s something else she wants to say.

At odds with her Party, and pursued by a harassed Party worker, she has a decision to make; toe the line or take back control.

This timely piece, directed by award-winning Traverse Artistic Director Orla O’Loughlin, moves effortlessly from heartfelt political satire to vivid, soaring lyricism.

Never has an iron fist within a velvet glove delivered such a punch.

“Quigley’s magnificant central performance as Fiona is as brave a piece of female work as you’ll see anywhere on this fringe” ★★★★ -The Scotsman
