Screenwriting Success

As well as being an actor, our LINDA DUNCAN MacLAUGHLIN is a playwright, screenwriter and fiction writer who is now writing for River City, BBC Scotland’s flagship drama.

She is a previous recipient of a New Playwright’s Award from Playwrights’ Studio Scotland.  Other plays include MacPherson’s Rant for The Byre Theatre, St Andrews and Take Me If You Need Me for Oran Mor, Glasgow.

Linda has also written for BBC Alba’s FUNC, for BBC Children’s Digital Learning Time for a Story, and has story contributed on BBC’s Waterloo Road.

Her novel, Original Sins, was nominated for a CWA Debut Dagger Award in 2018.  She was also nominated for the inaugural Jenny Lecoat Screenwriting Prize.
