Patricia Ward Kelly Q&A

CMA are honoured to announce an exclusive Question and Answer session with Patricia Ward Kelly – an author and public speaker based in Los Angeles. She is the widow of legendary dancer, director, choreographer Gene Kelly.

Patricia met Gene in 1985, when he was the host/narrator on a television special about the Smithsonian museum and she was a writer on the project. Gene hired her to write his memoirs and the two were married in 1990. For ten years, she recorded him daily and spends much of her time touring shows about her late husband. She inherited Gene’s archive and is his official biographer.  In 2019, Patricia hosted Gene Kelly: A Life In Music at the BFI Southbank in London.

As a Hollywood icon and dancer, Gene Kelly was a perfectionist who transformed dance, bringing an accessibility and overt masculinity to the medium whilst working alongside icons such as Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra and Cyd Charisse.  CMA dancers – register fast!
