Karen Bartke wins BBC Norman Beaton Fellowship 2016

Huge congratulations to Karen Bartke on being awarded the BBC Norman Beaton Fellowship 2016!

Over the past few months Karen has worked extremely hard taking part in several auditions for the fellowship prizes in London, with the last one being on 15th March where she was one of 12 competing finalists.

karenThe BBC’s Norman Beaton Fellowship (NBF) is an event set up to broaden the range of actors available to Radio Drama producers across the UK by encouraging applicants from non-traditional training backgrounds.

Theatres around the UK have been invited to join us in our search for new talent in this the Fellowship’s fourteenth year. In the years since its launch, NBF has done much to encourage interest in radio acting from a more diverse and formerly under-represented range of professional acting talent. This in turn has fed into a wider awareness across the acting profession of casting opportunities in radio.
